On Remembrance Day we reflect whose who were involved in the wars, or whose who lost their loved ones. We also need to learn not to repeat this tragedy and learn from the mistakes. On Remembrance Day we remember and honor the dead-those who died on the battlefields. If we don't remember our past mistakes, we could repeat them. We should remember because sometimes we forget were we went wrong and we need to remind our selves or others that there is another way to handle the situation.

Why are poppies important ?
The poppy is a recognized symbol for the soldiers that died. The poppy became popular when "In Flanders Fields: a poem written by John McCrae who was a doctor from Canadian Army Medical Corps(Later became Lieutenant-Colonel). The poem was written in the middle of the Second Battle of Ypres, in Belgium of 1915. Now the poppy is used as a symbol or emblem of remembrance because of the poem "In Flanders Field."
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields
Why is Remembrance Day important? What are we remembering? How will we remember?
We are remembering those who fought and died for our country, the fear and trying to understand how they faced the wars, lose of soldiers, the living conditions, and thinking about the mental, spiritual, physical hardship the soldiers have faced.
We get the opportunity to remember once a year on November 11th, by pausing for two minutes during the silent tribute. Attending ceremonies and visiting memorials. Wearing poppies, poppies are worn as a reminder of the red flower that still continues to grow in the battlefields.
